This programme with 7 guided tours covers history of St. Petersburg from its founder Peter the Great to the last Tsar Nicolas II. Each day of your stay will be devoted to a different epoch – you will visit first palace of St.Petersburg – the Summer palace of Peter the Great, Winter palace – the Hermitage museum founded by Catherine the Great, Yussupov Palace – where Grigory Rasputin was murdered and the sunset of the Russian Empire began.
Day 1: Arrive in St. Petersburg. Transfer to a chosen hotel.
Day 2: Day of Peter the Great. Tour of the City «The city of Peter the Great»: Kunstkamera, Spit of Basil’s island, Menshikov’s Palace – the places that is as old as the city. Visit to the Fortress of Peter and Paul. Free time for lunch. Visit to the Summer Palace of Peter the Great. The small cottage hidden in the greenery of the Summer Gardens looks more like a Dutch burger’s home than the royal palace. Being preserved for centuries it demonstrates the life of the early 18-th century.
Optional: Menshikov Palace – the first city mansion built by the first city’s Governor Alexander Menshikov.
Day 3: Day of Catherine the Great. Morning visit to the cathedral of St. Isaac.
Optional: Ballet in the Hermitage theatre.
Day 4: Day of Nicolas II. Tour of Peterhof (Petrodvoretz). Peterhof is the famous imperial residence with amazing gardens and fountains. It is possible to arrange lunch in Petrehof. Return to St. Petersburg. Visit to Yussupov palace - a palace of the richest Russian noble family.
Day 5: Departure. Transfer to the airport.
